The Structure of the Skin 

The skin consists of three layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous tissue. The dermis is the middle layer, containing hair follicles, sweat glands, and blood vessels. The subcutaneous tissue is the innermost layer, providing insulation and cushioning.
